    境内建材工业发达。1932年(民国21年) ，仅从明水、普集2处火车站即发运外地
石灰450吨、 粗石料540吨、磨石225吨。但解放前，建筑材料限于个体经营，生产受
到局限。新中国成立后，随着建筑工程的增加，砖瓦、砂石、花岗石、水泥、建筑陶
瓷等工业，逐步发展起来。1987年，全县有建材工业企业206处，从业2.2万人，总产
值6284.6万元、利润414.43万元。
