    刁镇地下资源缺乏，工业基础薄弱。改革开放以来，依靠科技发展经济，走出一
条富民兴镇的新路子。 自1986年始，全镇共建科研所9个，引进专业技术人才86人，
率先实施“产、 学、研”工程。共组织实施“星火计划”项目28项、“火炬计划”3
项；开发新产品184个，21种产品填补国内空白、19种产品填补省内空白、1项获国家
发明四等奖、4种产品获部优称号、7种获省以上科技进步奖。累计新增产值3.5亿元，
创利税4200万元。1994年，被命名为“山东省星火示范乡(镇)”。
