    2001年8月6日，《平阴报》试刊。《平阴报》由中共平阴县委主办，每周四出版，
每周1期，为4开4版，每期发行量1万份。一版为要闻，二版为经济新闻，三版为政教
社会新闻，四版为副刊。实行无偿赠送。2002年1月，《平阴报》改为每周出版两期。
3月，正式成立平阴报社。2003年9月，根据全国报刊整顿的意见，《平阴报》停刊。
期间，共出版196期392万多字。
