    1959年11月，成立平阴县气候服务站，为县境内第一个气象机构，当时的业务主
要是测报、预报和农业气象工作。1960年1月开始，正式进行气象观测。1982年9月由
平阴县气候服务站改为平阴县气象局。2001年11月，成立平阴县人工影响天气办公室。
2002年5月成立气象科技防雷中心。 建站伊始，气象局原址位于平阴县城南尹庄村，
1965年1月1日起迁至平阴县城南西三里村。
