    菏泽，为伏羲之桑梓，尧舜之故里，先为商汤之京畿，继属曹国之疆土，后建曹
州之区域。古为济水所汇，菏水所出，是连通古济、泗水两大水系的天然湖泊，因南
有菏山，北有雷泽，故名“菏泽”。清雍正十三年（1735年）曹州升为府，设附郭县，
赐名为菏泽，始作政区名。
