    2006年，全市环境质量全面改善。根据省环保局《2006前三季度山东省环境质量状况》通报，沂
沭河流域在全省水质最好，市内淮河流域8个水质监测断面水质达标率达到97.74%。沭河入境断面为
劣五类水质，出境断面保持四类水质；沂河入境断面为五类水质，出境断面保持三类水质，临沂市成
为全省水质改善最快、 出境水质最好的城市之一。 大气环境质量持续好转，城区大气优良天数达到
358天，占全年总天数的98.1%，同比提高1.7%。生态环境进一步改善。
