    普通高中发展到96所，在校学生23.4万人。其中，2004年招生8.7万人，比上年增加1万人。已做
好临沂一中南校区建设的前期准备工作，普通高中规模进一步扩大，办学条件得到进一步改善。加大
教学质量评估力度，进一步提高了全市高中学校的教育质量。2004年，全市普通高考共录取47940人，
居全省第二位。其中本科18215人，重点本科进线者4268人，比上年增加593人，增长率达16%。
