    2月  李玉妹任临沂市人民政府市长。
    12月26日  临沂飞机场复航。临沂飞机场始建于1958年，使用安—2型飞机，开通了临沂至济南
航线。1980年12月停航。1995年3月，临沂飞机场扩建复航工程开工，至1998年上半年，基础建设工
程基本完成，本日正式复航。扩建后的临沂机场为国内支线，飞行等级4C级，主跑道长2400米，宽45
米，主要使用B737、MD—82、FOK—100以下机型，开通了临沂至广州、温州、武汉、大连、青岛、济
南等城市的航线。
