    2000年，市旅游局完成了《临沂市旅游发展总体规划》、《蒙山旅游发展总体规划》和《蒙山旅
游分区建设规划》的修订工作。旅游资源开发和基础设施建设坚持“一山一城一水”的工作思路，集
中力量抓了旅游拳头项目，旅游开发继续呈现良好的发展势头。旅游市场促销和行业管理逐步得到加
强，旅游业已成为临沂市新的经济增长点。年内全市接待国内游客363.48万人次，旅游收入16.96亿元，
分别比上年增长17.25%和13.07%。 接待海外游客4429人次，外汇收入216.83万美元，分别比上年增长
32.17%和29.44%。旅游投入3.31亿元，比上年增长83%。
