    全年全市城镇人口达504万人，城镇建成区面积达683平方公里；中心城区建成区人口和面积分别
达160万人、162平方公里。在全国率先制定了《临沂市生态城镇指标评价体系》和《临沂市生态城镇
申报与评审办法》。中央电视台、山东电视台、新华网、《人民日报》、《大众日报》、《中国建设
报》和《山东建设报》等媒体报道了全市的城镇化工作，临沂市获“中国城乡建设范例城市”称号。
成功举办中国（临沂）“城镇化主导区域发展”论坛。
