    临沂历史悠久，又是革命老区，文史资料丰富。近几年来，各级政协重视文史资料的征集编辑发行工作，取得显著成绩，产生了良好的社会效益。自1983年至1995年，全市九县一区(兰山区)政协共征集文史资料2000多万字，出版各种文史书目60余种，计500多万字，为省级以上有关书刊提供文史资料80余篇，计40余万字。市政协于1995年下半年着手编纂《临沂文史集粹》，该书分政治军事、社会民情、 文化教育、工商经济、风物特产、民族宗教6个卷目，反映临沂近代百余年的历史风貌。全书近150万字，收入文章370余篇，预计1996年10月出版。
