    又称赤玉。境内玛瑙分布广泛。费县、莒南、沂水、郯城等县有矿点十余处。其中以费县石桥、
胡阳两镇和郯城李庄一带，出产最多。所产玛瑙，质地优良，光彩斑斓，种类繁多。从纹理看，有带
状玛瑙、苔纹玛瑙、缠丝玛瑙、碧石玛瑙等；从色彩看，有单色玛瑙和多色玛瑙。玛瑙制作的工艺品
和首饰，堪称佳品。特别是水胆玛瑙制品最为珍贵，曾被周总理视为国宝。还用玛瑙生产了一些化验
室用研钵、精密仪表轴承以及上光用玛瑙粉等产品。
