    第五次全国人口普查是世纪之交我国进行的一项重大国情调查，对于全面评价人口状况及今后一
个时期经济和社会发展将起到十分重要的作用。全市各级统计部门积极工作，在各级政府的综合协调
下，各项准备工作开展的卓有成效，做到了机构、人员、经费、办公条件的四落实。各项试点工作深
入扎实，积累了丰富经验，掌握了大量基础性资料。普查的各项前期准备工作走在了全省的前列。
