    临沂地区位于华北地台东南部。郯庐断裂带(境内称沂沭断裂带)纵贯全区，将全区分成东西两块
截然不同的地质构造单元。以断裂为界，临西为鲁西台背的一部分，属华北地台范畴；临东为胶南隆
起的一部分，属扬子陆块范畴。两块不同的地体，其地层发育程序、构造格局、岩浆演化、成矿规律
等各有特点。
