    本区发生的虫灾主要是蝗虫灾害，自1853～1985年的132年间，共发生虫灾59年次，平均2.33年发生一次。比旱、涝、雹灾发生的都少。虫灾发生的规律多发生于旱年，一般都是局部性的，全区性的只发生13年次。
    现在，地、县（市）、乡都建立了植保机构，对虫灾都能进行预测、预报和预防，蝗虫灾害很少发生。
