    1947年，沧南、泺北专署成立医院，兼管卫生行政工作。1950年德州专区成立时，全区卫生行政工作由专区中心卫生院代管。医院设医政、保健、防疫等股。1951年8月，德州专区设卫生科。1954年5月，将德州市防疫站改称专区卫生防疫站。1961年成立专区卫生局。1964年建立专区妇幼保健站。1985年地区卫生局设办公室、医政科、药政科、医教科、爱国卫生委员会办公室、人事科、计财科、纪检组、团委、工会、地区红十字会办公室等11个科室。共42人。
