    新中国成立前，全区粮食加工均采用土碾、土磨等方法。自1946年6月德州解放以后，至1954年，全区兴建粮食加工厂4处。1962年发展为12处，到1985年，共有县粮食加工厂14处，有磨粉机81台，年生产面粉2236.8万公斤。乡村粮食加工厂704处，年生产面粉5850万公斤。
