    1951年，中国人民银行莱芜支行开办储蓄业务。1954年农村信用社，1985年农业
银行、工商银行莱芜支行，1986年市邮电局，1987年建设银行莱芜市支行分别开办储
蓄业务。1983年，城乡储蓄总额首次突破亿元大关。1986年试办银企合办储蓄所7处，
1987年增办2处。
