    1902至1929年，平均货运净吨数为59万多吨。1902年为15.2万吨，1929年增至
130多万吨。
    收回威海卫后，虽取消自由贸易港，但寄港船只仍未减少。1932至1937年，进
出港船舶为24,241只， 平均每年为4,040只；货物总吨位为15,743,758吨，平均每
年为2,623,626吨。
    建国后， 海关撤消，对外闭关，只有国内船舶来港抛锚，每年平均只有150只
左右。 1982年为建国33年来最多的一年，进出港船只达270只。客运因文、荣、威
三县市与东北往来的商旅，主要以海上为主，吨位加大，客运量逐年增多。
