    泰安市是山东省雷暴灾害多发地市之一。由于泰城地处鲁中山区，地形复杂，山区洼地皆有，极易造成局地强对流天气，使雷暴活动和雷击灾害频繁发生。1985—2002年，全市年平均初雷暴日为4月17日，最早雷暴日为2月24日（出现在1987年），年平均终雷暴日为9月25日，最晚终日为12月3日（出现在1986年）。历年1月、11月无雷暴日，2月、3月、12月为1次，集中出现在4—9月份，雷暴活动多发生在7月份，占年日数的32%。1985—2002年，共发生雷击455次，平均每年25.28次。
