20世纪80年代，泰安城乡居民的主要交通工具是自行车，城市中时兴“小木兰”等小型摩托车。90年代以来，尤其是进入2000年后，城市家庭摩托车、电动车日益普及，农村家庭摩托车购买率大幅度提高。出门“打的”逐渐流行，私家汽车日趋增多。
