    1923年修建韩德干线公路后，至1937年，过境干线公路计有7条，总长557.4公
里。
    建国后，1953～1956年，泰安莱芜两县将原泰莱公路路基北移，避开沿线近10
个村庄，铺筑级配砾石路面，栽植行道树，桥涵齐全，建成境内第一条里程最长的
晴雨通车路。至1957年，全区干线公路发展到10条525公里。1984年发展到19条，
在境里程总计1231.3公里，其中跨省际5条，跨地(市)际13条，区内跨县际的1条。
