　　10月29日，“2006年中国最令人向往的地方”暨全国优秀旅游风情展播评选活动在北京揭晓，泰山从众多候选景点中脱颖而出，成为2006年中国最令人向往的地方，并获得中国最令人向往的五岳之首金牌称号。这次评选活动是由中央电视台、中国旅游电视协会与中华网站共同主办的。
