    俗传姓温，名琼，字永清。浙江温州人。武则天长安二年（７０
２年）五月五日午时生，２６岁举进士不第，发誓说：“吾生不能致君泽民，
死当为泰山神，以除天下恶厉耳。”传泰山府君闻其威猛，召为佑岳之神、东
岳第八司主、东平忠靖王，奉玉帝令，为岳府猛将、众神之宗、岳班之首、东
岳十太保之一，有温太保之名，封东岳统古天下都巡检，五岳上殿奉事急取罪
人案、玉皇殿前左元帅、金翊灵照武雷王、佑侯温元帅。
