    1991年，济宁市共有塑料制品生产企业11个、1个专业公司（济宁市塑料工业公司），有职工2422人，固定资产原值1.22亿元，工业总产值1.5亿元。1991年后，塑料生产企业积极开发、研制新产品，大力开展技术改造，先后从联邦德国、日本、奥地利等国家引进具有20世纪80年代初国际先进水平的塑料加工生产线。2010年，主要生产电缆料、增塑剂、农地膜、编织袋、BOPP双向拉伸膜、PET透明片、渔网具、塑料机械、塑料日用杂品、工程塑料等10个系列、60余种产品。
