清宣统元年(1909年)，津浦铁路穿越境内。1912年，自兖州至济宁的支线开通，为济
宁最早的铁路。1986年，新石铁路全线通车。兖州火车站为京沪、新石两大铁路交叉
处， 为全国铁路八纵八横十字交叉点之一。1990年，铁路总长度375公里，其中干线
240公里。共有车站32个，其中兖州站为一等车站，济宁、邹县站为二等车站。
