境内大地构造单元属鲁南背斜，基底乃由单一的泰山群变质岩所构成。由于构造作用，
基底强烈褶皱并发生断裂，核部为大面积的太古界变质岩，寒武及奥陶系出露较多，
尤其东部山丘区，基岩裸露，地面坡度陡，水土流失更严重。建国后，党和政府十分
重视水土保持工作，采取有效措施，并取得了显著成效。
