    1958年，掖县、文登县建厂土法生产钾肥，年产1294吨，氧化钾含量仅12 ％。1959年烟台、蓬
莱、掖县、莱阳、文登5县市用平炉法生产氯化钾，年产量10555吨，氧化钾含量1～2.5％，仍然偏低。
同年，有3个社办企业土法生产钾肥8013吨。1960年，烟台化肥厂、威海磷肥厂开始生产氯化钾，年
产量537吨。1961年，钾肥生产全部停止。1977年，莱阳县一社办企业又组织生产钾肥，仅生产150吨
即停产。
