    山东黄河三角洲国家级自然保护区总面积为15.3万公顷， 其中核心区5.8万公
顷，缓冲区1.3万公顷，实验区8.2万公顷，分黄河故道区和黄河新河道区。
    1992年10月，国务院批准建立了山东黄河三角洲国家级自然保护区。1992年12
月， 成立山东黄河三角洲国家级自然保护区管理局，一千二、黄河口、大汶流3个
管理站为管理局3个下属科级事业单位，形成现在的机构格局。
