    分布枣庄市种植玉米历史悠久，但种植极少。自1955年开始推广玉米种植，发展很快。到70年代
末、80年代初，已成为全市主要粮食作物之一。玉米广泛分布于全市各地，但主要分布于滕县四周和
滕县西部地区，峄城区南部地区和薛城区西部地区等平原区，其次为台儿庄区的运河两岸低洼地区。
    面积、产量 1936年滕县种植玉米1110亩，亩产165斤。1942年峄县种50亩，亩产90斤。1949年至1951
年全市每年平均种2000亩，亩产120斤。1955年6万亩，亩产151斤。1965年10万亩，亩产194斤。1975年发
展到48万亩，亩产提高到443斤。1984年99.9万亩，亩产771斤。
    高产典型：1983年滕县城郊乡董村1500亩夏玉米（麦田套种），亩产1100斤。1981年峄城区底阁镇
甘寺村农科队1亩夏玉米（麦田套种），亩产1366.8斤，为全市单产最高纪录。
