    1957年以前，城市粪便用传统办法加工处理，制成粪干。1958～1964年，青岛环
卫职工探索新的办法处理粪便，以消灭病菌虫害，预防疾病传染。1965～1978年城肥
无害化处理办法试验成功。 1978～1983年间青岛市共建成3个城肥无害化处理厂。至
此，城市粪便基本上达到了无害化要求。
