　　天主教实行教阶制度。山东省天主教教职人员为主教、司铎、修士、修女。领
受过神品并在教会内任职的主教、司铎和六品修士(执事)，系神职人员，均为男性。
按天主教教律规定，主教、司铎、修士和修女须保持独身，终身不娶不嫁。修女以
下，还有居家修道的守贞女。天主教信徒分为望教者和领洗者，领洗者为正式教徒。
教徒进入修道院学习者称修道生。
