１９３３年至１９３４年，曾被国民党青岛社会局和市党部查封过两次，均经
斗争后恢复营业。１９３７年抗日战争爆发后，孙乐文赴延安；张智忠回故乡
筹建中共昌邑县委，担任县委书记；后期加入荒岛书店担任会计工作的共产党
员丁志清，也转到胶东特委做宣教工作。至此，书店因无人经营而歇业。
