    １９０４年由山东藩台出资创办，沈景忱和孙念僧任社长。４开
４版，主要设《上谕》、《论说》、《紧要电报》、《各国新闻》、《本日专
电》、《各省新闻》、《本省新闻》、《专件》、《辕抄》等栏目。该报偏重
于新闻报道，具有一定的反帝色彩。１９０５年曾因登载“德国人在山东不利
于中国”的消息，遭德领事抗议。该报的《论说》，多是转录京、津、沪报纸
上的论说文章。１９０８年，该报扩大为对开４版，栏目名称无多大改变。辛
亥革命爆发后停刊。
    民国建立后，该报改组为《大东日报》。
