    春秋末年卫国人。姓端木，名赐，字子贡。曾经
商于曹、鲁之间，富致千金。在孔子弟子中，“最为富益”。他性格活泼，办
事通达，以言语著称，擅长外交活动，常在鲁、卫任职和参与政治活动。唐开
元二十七年（７３９年）追封“黎侯”。宋大中祥符二年（１００９年）加封
“黎阳公”。南宋咸淳三年（１２６７年）进封为“黎公”。明嘉靖九年（１
５３０年）改称“先贤端木子”。
