    新中国成立后，山东省人民政府于1952年8月1日成立了省人民政府文化事业管
理局，1955年3月改为省文化局。至此，全省文化艺术事业纳入省文化局管理范围。
从1955年起，市专级亦开始建立文化局。随着各地区划变更，文化管理机构名称变
动频繁。直至60年代初，全省各市(专) 、 县基本建立健全了文化行政管理机构。
1983年7月8日，省文化局改为省文化厅。
