　　鲁砚在唐、宋时期就享有盛名。唐代书法家颜真卿、柳公权，宋代欧阳修、米
芾等都曾给予极高评价。山东砚石资源丰富。以砚石制成的鲁砚有温砚、田横砚、
淄砚、红丝砚、燕子砚、金星砚、薛南山砚、尼山砚、鹤山砚、浮莱山砚、徐公砚、
龟砚和砣矶砚等，多达十余种。其中金星砚等是用近几年新发现的砚石制成的新品
种。砚石岩性多为沉积岩。
