    山东的近代保险业，始自1862年(清同治元年)烟台开埠之后。进入山东的中外
保险公司，先后有150多家。外资保险公司多为外国洋行或中国买办代理，初期主
要是通过垄断进出口贸易和交通运输，操纵保险业务。华资保险公司主要是以银行
为依托，与银行的放款、仓库业务组成“一条龙”服务。新中国的保险业，主要由
人民保险公司经营。
