    公元前221年，秦始皇废六国货币，统行秦国铜钱“半两”。形制为圆形方孔，
以铢两为计算单位，以币材重量为钱名。实重12铢，名称与重量相符。
    汉初袭秦制，亦行“半两”钱，但实重屡变。汉文帝行“四铢半两”时，山东
铸有“临淄四铢”、“临朐四铢”、“东阿四铢”。
