    在动物界中，有几群动物既不同于无脊椎动物，也不同于脊椎动物，但是它们的
一生中身体构造曾经出现或具有过类似于脊索动物早期出现的简单构造或同源器官，
它们比其它脊索动物原始，因此称为原索动物Protochordata。
    原索动物生活于海洋中，其中一些种类现在已很稀少，属于国家保护动物，政府
已明令公布依法给予保护。 可分半索动物、尾索动物和头索动物3大类，山东沿海皆
有分布。
