    山东只1科， 即兔科Leporidae。为中型草食性哺乳动物。全省广泛分布的只有1
种草兔Lepus capensisLinn. ，亦称蒙古兔或野兔。体长约40厘米，耳较长，后
肢比前肢发达，善跳跃奔跑。背毛棕黄色，颈部与体前半部两侧及四肢外侧颜色较浅，
腹毛白色，尾部中央为黑色。喜夜间活动，白天也常见，性机警，视、听觉均很灵敏。
吃各种植物的茎叶， 危害农作物。春季繁殖，1年可产2胎～3胎，每胎2仔～6仔。是
重要的狩猎对象，肉味美，皮张也可利用。
