    生活于山地或森林地区，偶至原野或田地，是典型的食种子鸟类。山东常见的有
3种，均属鸠鸽科Columbidae。
    山斑鸠Streptopelia orientalis(Latham) 头、颈灰褐带葡萄酒色，上背褐
色，各羽缘红褐。下体为葡萄酒的红褐色，尾上覆羽暗褐，羽端蓝灰色。栖于山地和
平原的树林间，白天停落在树枝上，若无外界干扰，可持续很长时间。冬天常集群活
动。吃植物性食物。
    珠颈斑鸠Streptopeliachinensis(Scopoli)上体褐色，下体粉红色。后颈
有黑羽半圈，杂以白色及棕色珠状斑。外侧尾羽黑褐，先端白色。栖于多树的山脚、
草地、庭院、田野，常集小群活动。吃植物性食物。
    火斑鸠Oenopopeliatranquebarica(Hermann) 体羽葡萄红色，颈基有领状
黑色半圈。中央尾羽灰棕褐色，外侧尾羽基部黑灰，端部淡灰，向外为白色。栖于山
林和田野。吃植物性食物。
    据文献记载，山东曾有黑果鸽Columba janthina(Temminck) ，分布在威海,为
夏候鸟。
