　　随着近代交通运输和工商业的发展，搬运装卸业逐步产生和发展起来。在旧社
会，搬运装卸工是“穷苦力”，在封建把头的剥削和压迫下，依靠简单的劳动工具
从事繁重的体力劳动。中华人民共和国建立后，搬运工人翻身解放，走上了社会主
义道路。通过革新工具，发展各种吊车、铲车，逐步摆脱笨重的体力劳动。进入80
年代，搬运装卸大部实现机械化和半机械化。
