    泰山、鲁山、沂山北侧的低山丘陵区，主要为石灰岩组成的丘陵与低山。
    区内土壤侵蚀严重，年侵蚀模数为1178吨/平方公里，平均侵蚀深度为1.0毫米，
广大岭坡分布为钙质粗骨土、石质土。坡麓及洪积扇形地发育有普通褐土，河谷平原
有带状分布的石灰性潮土及潮褐土。
    种植的作物以小麦、玉米、甘薯等为主，烤烟在省内占重要地位，尤以益都、临
朐褐土上所产黄烟著称。果树中以核桃、柿、山楂居多，益都山楂颇有盛名。
