　　大约在四五十万年以前，山东沂源县境内就生存、繁衍着许多与北京猿人相似
的古猿人。那时的“沂源猿人”已经能够打制石刮削器、石片、石核。淄川王母山、
荣成崖头集也发现打制粗糙的石器。这是山东古人类最早使用的工具。
