　　日照市淡水养殖业始于1958年。在沿海涝洼荒滩开挖鱼池，鱼苗由武汉空运，
主要是鲢鱼。东港区的日照、马陵、巨峰，莒县的青峰岭、峤山仕阳水库和五莲县
的户部等水库是主要养殖地。1960年建立淡水鱼种场，负责鱼苗培育和技术指导。
1978年以后淡水养鱼面积逐年扩大，品种逐年增多，除原有的鲢、鲤外，还有鳙鱼、
青鱼、草鱼、罗非鱼、河蟹等。1995年底，淡水养殖总产达9485吨。
