　　山东是中国造纸术的发祥地之一，自古民间造纸业发达，纸品精良，享有盛誉。
造纸业的兴盛促进了印刷业的发展。隋朝时山东已有印刷业，到北宋时颇具规模。
19世纪末20世纪初，近代机制纸业、印刷业在山东兴起，逐步取代了传统的手工纸
业和传统的泥活字印刷业。建国后，在党和政府的积极扶持下，山东造纸工业、印
刷工业迅速发展，并新兴了包装装潢工业。三业相互依托，协调发展，成为山东一
轻工业的重点行业之一。
