    山东的经济作物以棉花、花生为大宗，还有烤烟、麻类、小油料、甜菜等。经济
作物在农业中占有重要地位，是农民的重要经济来源，也是轻工业原料。新中国建立
后山东省经济作物发展迅速，面积从1949年1494万亩，到1990年发展到3450万亩，扩
大1.3倍，占农作物播种面积的比率，从1949年的8.2%增加到1990年的21.1%。80年代
中后期经济作物产值(按1980年不变价) 达到60多亿元，占种植业产值的30%左右，山
东成为全国重要的棉花、花生生产基地和出口基地。
